Essential Oils
Essential oils have been described as the life-blood of a plant. They accumulate in specialised cells or intercellular spaces in specific parts of the plant, containing the plants therapeutic properties in a concentrated form.
Scientific research has proven that essential oils have potent medicinal properties.
Unlike chemical drugs, essential oils remain in the body for 3-6 hours then excreted without leaving toxins to harm the body.
These oils are in their purest form and have been extracted from the flowers, roots, steams or leaves of certain plants. They contain concentrated plant energies that trigger a healing response in the body known for balancing and healing skin conditions, some of their valuable constituents include vitamins, minerals, beta-carotene, and antibiotic, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial, analgesic, anti-septic, anti-fungal, anti-microbial and anti-viral. They are readily accepted via the skin, as they are very small in their molecular structure.
As the most powerful part of the plant, essential oils and plant extracts have been used medicinally, to kill bacteria, fungi and viruses. They provide evocative aromas to balance mood, and lift spirits, dispel negative emotions, and create ambiance.
They are oxygenating and help transport nutrients to the cells of our body. They have the unique ability to penetrate cell membranes and diffuse throughout the blood and tissues. When topically applied, essential oils can travel throughout the body within minutes.
Within the body, essential oils stimulate the secretion of antibodies, neurotransmitters, endorphins, hormones, and enzymes.

Vitamins/ Anti oxidants
We age mainly due to oxidation, caused by free radicals which are responsible for attacking our healthy skin cells and killing them off. Anti oxidants fight these free radicals before they have the opportunity to destroy our skin. Antioxidants are found in Vitamins and many fruit and vegetable extracts.

AHAs + Enzymes
Alpha-hydroxy is derived from fruit and milk sugars. Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) are designed to exfoliate dead skin cells and promote collagen growth. They can be useful in promoting smoother, even-toned skin and may reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines in some individuals.
Lactic AHA is derived from milk products, while glycolic AHA is derived from fruit and sugarcane.
AHA’s loosen the top layer of dead cells, primarily composed of keratin (a protein), while enzymes dissolve and digests this keratinized layer. Salicylic acids have antiinflammatory properties in addition to its ability to target blockages and infections within the pores.
